"Hart enters Prof Kingsfield class unprepared. Kingsfield calls on Hart who stumbles through his lack of preparation. Kingsfield comes out of his pulpit, walks into the class and places an imaginary sheet over Hart. Later Hart is informed that annually, Kingsfield picks one new student over which to place a symbolic shroud. Translated this means this particular student will never be called upon again and won't pass the course.
