"According to the show "Public Defender", the cases are all based on real ones. I never doubted this until I saw "Cornered"...an episode that seems utterly ridiculous! When the show begins, a guy holds up a store and makes his getaway. Soon, a cop spots him and gives chase. Fires are exchanged and the cop is killed...and the crook is wounded. Now here is the part that is insane....the head of the Public Defenders, Bart Matthews (Reed Hadley) assigns the case to Jim (Patrick O'Neal). Why is this insane? Because the dead cop was a friend of his! I cannot imagine any depa..."
