This TV show is very, very unusual in that it&apos;s a sequel to a famous movie, Cary Grant&apos;s &quot;Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House&quot;. However, the actors are completely different.

MacDonald Carey stars as James Blandings, an advertising executive who inexplicably has decided to move out to the country and buy a farm. Phyllis Thaxter plays Murial, his long-suffering wife. I say &apos;long-suffering&apos; because James is a dreamer and continually gets himself into trouble because of this. So, not only are they living very far from the city, but their attempts to make a go of the farm have been far from successful and rather comical.

In his latest scheme, James hope to make a small fortune from some land on which he&apos;s been growing hay. As usual, the wife encourages James to THINK THIS THROUGH--get advice before proceeding with his plans. But, as I said, James is a dreamer and has visions of wealth--and in the process he ends up not only NOT making the money he&apos;d hoped but ends up costing them a small fortune. How? See the show.

In many ways, this show plays a lot like the later series &quot;Green Acres&quot;. However, instead of the locals all being idiots and weirdos, the only one in the show is James himself. His attempt to become a gentleman farmer is, like Oliver Douglas in &quot;Green Acres&quot;, is fraught with one misadvanture after another. It&apos;s all rather clever and worth seeing and the stars are quite nice. Perhaps, I wonder, this might have been an attempt to launch such a series though nothing came of the idea until &quot;Green Acres&quot;.
