The Ark&apos;s resident himbo twit Garth (Robin Ward) decides it might be fun to explore the inside of something called the &apos;Sonic Chamber&apos; and is sealed in with deafening noise. His friends Devon (Keir Dullea) &amp; Rachel (Gay Rowan) save him but Devon goes in to shock. Rachel asks the central computer (William Osler) for help and it dispatches a medical team (which would have come in handy multiple times if they had known about it before).

It naturally occurs to Rachel to ask these representatives of an entire biosphere of doctors (whose written history can probably only be deciphered by pharmacists) whether or not they can alter the course of the Ark. As the viewers of previous episodes know an accident knocked the Ark off course and into the path of a class &apos;G&apos; solar star. The doctors don&apos;t know how to fix the course either.

Dr.Chris Trask (Stephen Young) - medical team leader decides he wants help the ill crew of an alien ship afflicted by a virus and neglects Devon in the infirmary. The aliens present many possibilities including putting the Ark on proper course - away from collision with a sun and toward life-sustaining planets for the biosphere communities to colonize.

The question of who to help - Devon or the aliens, seems like a no-brainer. Anyone watching the show for the first ten episodes could attest that for all the character and compassion Devon demonstrated he was ineffective in trying to alter the course of the ship. He also wasn&apos;t a very interesting character.

Moreover we learn the medical team know about the problem with the ship&apos;s course, are doing what they can and unlike Devon they are actually educated. So what the hell good is he? If it were that simple it wouldn&apos;t make for much of an episode.

The sets for this episode were the best of the series. But that is not saying much. The costuming was quite presentable and the equal of the very best the series had to offer. They also had enough people to properly stage this episode where most of the time they hadn&apos;t.

In this series the very personable and telegenic Robin Ward was not only saddled with playing an impulsive half-wit character. They also gave him a hairdo that made him look like something out of Dr.Seuss.
