Ray is on the run after killing a man accidentally in a fight that the other guy started. But he takes time enough to save Don Quine from drowning in a creek. A grateful Stacy gets The Virginian to hire him at Shiloh. Ray is really outstanding in conveying he pain, anguish and loneliness of a man caught in a silent world, not knowing whom to trust.
