"This Virginian story is the first to feature Diane Roter as Judge Garth's niece Jennifer come to live with Shiloh. Roter is the daughter of Lee J. Cobb's sister and a ne'er do well husband whom he never really liked. They're both dead now and Roter is looking to make Shiloh her new home. She's had a rough go of it and she's drawn to a passenger she meets on the stagecoach, young James MacArthur who tells Roter of his hardscrabble background.
