"The Civil War may be over, but nobody is forgetting Andersonville prison and how Union prisoners were treated there. Not in Medicine Bow anyway. Arriving in Medicine Bow are James Whitmore and his wife and son Virginia Grey and Steve Carlson. Whitmore was a commander at Andersonville and just got out of Federal Prison for crimes. He wants to settle down anonymously, but his notoriety won't let him. Sadly people take it out on the wife and son who had nothing to do with what he did. Whitmore kills Peter Whitney in self defense and Lee J. Cobb gets him off. But it doesn't change publ..."
