💡 Did You Know?

When we see a tv set or cell phone there is a quick montage of images indicating world wide communication technology. Most of these montages include these really big radio dishes. Those images are of the Jansky Very Large Array radio telescope station in New Mexico. Radio telescopes look at the radio waves coming from distant stars or even galaxies and in fact are surrounded by hundreds of square miles where radio based communication (like cell phones and WiFi) is prohibited.
