""A Novel Idea" gives us a look at how bad the fourth season would be, with Gabe Kaplan absent (apart from the opening and closing jokes), and a really awful plot. Mr. Woodman has written a Civil War story with characters similar to the Kotters and the Sweathogs, which hardly qualifies as a classic, Woodman depicting himself as a hero, pitted against the villainous Sweathogs. After acting out a Civil War scene in class, the guys decide to fight fire with fire by scripting a story in which Woodman is an extraterrestrial baddie up against the valiant 'Spacehogs.'
