"Not gonna lie, this pilot is terrible. But I have to understand what it tried to accomplish to get greenlit, because it wasn't made to set the world on fire at all. The pilot demonstrates how a low budget animated sitcom could look like, even though it looks even rougher than the series it would evolve into. Even as a pilot it fails to demonstrates the recycling of animation and scenery like a full episode does, it's only 2 minutes after all. The coloring is odd too, but maybe it's aged and have deteriorated since it's initial showing. I think the first episode "The Fl..."

This was lost for several years. This clip was found in a warehouse in 1993, 32 or 33 years after it was originally created and first seen, by the longtime animation teammates. (They met at MGM studio and immediately knew they could trust each other.) The duo of co-producers & co-directors, William Hanna & Joseph Barbera, created their most popular program ever, The Flintstones (1960).
