"Serves as the official bridge between the first movie and the animated series. Not just explaining the different colored uniforms (the tan jumpsuits were loaded with ectoplasmic energy from Gozer) but also how Slimer went from their first busting job to the firehouse pet. J. Michael Straczynski handles it nicely as anecdotal between Venkman and a news reporter, as well as making other connections to the original film. It still doesn't explain Egon's (or Ray's) hair colors, but it goes a long way toward putting the disparate appearances to rest. Plus, it's a fun episode, so..."
