There were two filmed version of this famous play :the first one starring Raimu was made in 1935 and its remake (considered weaker)in 1958.But as part of the &quot;Au Theatre Ce Soir&quot; ,&quot;L&apos;Ecole Des Cocottes&quot; comes off better.Some lines were cut in the movies ,particularly in the scene when Mademoiselle Amelie spends a night at the concert .Here,we attend the whole scene,and Daniele Deray shines in this part -she&apos;s given an ovation at the end of the play-,almost stealing the show from Amarande who portrays an excellent &quot;Cocotte&quot; though.A &quot;Cocotte &quot; was a courtesan,a woman who made his way of live by being supported by a wealthy graybeard who could be his father.
