"A wonderful episode of Designing Women that is quite truly the definition of women supporting women. When a man aint acting right you need a friend to get his damn act together. Mary Jo references a Japanese soldier that held out for 8 years after the end of World War II. Two men, Murata Susumu held out for 8 years and 120 days after the end of World War II in the Mariana Islands, he was captured in 1953. Another man, Corporal Shoichi Shimada, held out for 8 years and 271 days isn't the Philippines and was killed by a class with Filipinos in 1954. Though there were other holdouts that lasted a shorter time or more time, these are the only known two to have lasted specifically 8 years.
