"This episode is worth watching for all the usual reasons, but especially for Ray Barrett's magnificent voice work for the Duchess of Royston. I was not surprised to learn that the voice cast were doubled up laughing when they heard Mr Barrett recording the part at ultra short notice. The result is all the more admirable because an actress had been scheduled to record the Duchess's voice but she did not show up to the recording session. Ray Barrett offered to stand in and created a voice which was based obviously on the celebrated English stage actress, Dame Edith Evans. It fitted ..."

Voice acting for the show was usually done per episode on a Sunday morning, but this particular morning the voice actor for Lady Royston (the Duchess) apparently didn't show. Ray Barrett(John Tracy) came to the rescue to save time by hastily ad-libbing an old woman's voice, which convinced production staff to proceed and thereby allowing the actors to go to the pub in good time after their session.
