"First of all, you have probably been warned in the past to not read a book before you see the movie, because "it will ruin it." Well, in this case, having seen the other Mansfield Park kind of ruined this one for me. It would intrude itself into this one, with steady comparisons, trying to prove itself as the better film. And I must say, it succeeded. I need to clarify, however, that I never was in love with the 1999 version. I enjoyed it, but such liberties were taken with the story as would never have been acceptable in Jane Austen's day. For example, young and innocent Fanni..."
