"A teenage shoplifter is arrested, he has a dubious home life, and a young woman, due to identity a potential attacker also has a dubious story. It's quite a sleazy episode, both stories are equally unpleasant, and fit together nicely, equally unpleasant, but both have a degree of truth about them. I am a massive fan of Geraldine Somerville, and Marie is an interesting character, although I wouldn't say this was her finest hour, a cracking career would soon follow.
