I don&apos;t think anyone is likely to criticize the crisp computer-generated images of a gleaming Boeing 747 approaching Guam from Seoul. It&apos;s hard to imagine how they could be improved on. If the acting sometimes seem amateurish, well, so what? The rest of the program, like the others in the series, is clear and informative.

In this instance the Korean airliner descends too low and meets Nimitz Mountain a mile short of the runway. More than 200 people die. Causes: pilot fatigue, transitory malfunction of the glide path indicator, the massive momentum of a 200,000 kilogram airplane, the FAA&apos;s decision to move an important navigational guide to a point at which it was no longer important, and a blinding rainstorm.

The experienced Korean pilot had a stash of benzodiazapines (Xanax, Valium, etc.) in his effects. The narration describes them as &quot;sedatives.&quot; Ah-HAH, responds the pedestrian human mind seeking simplicity among the web of causes. The pilot was doped up. But nope. Nothing was found in his system. It took an unfortunate juxtaposition of circumstances to bring about the tragedy.

This particular episode gives more time than usual to the survivor and to the relatives of those who died.
