A subplot of this episode is the Bureau of Secret Projects' search for a possible replacement Mr. Terrific in the event that Stanley is incapacitated. Hal Walters pursues the job with vigor and boasts to Stanley that he is certain of his eventual selection. This is, of course, a play on the fact that a competing show on NBC was titled "Captain Nice."
