"Most fans hail the "real" KINGSTON TRIO as Bob Shane (sex symbol) + Nick Reynolds (runt of the litter) + Dave Guard (the acknowledged leader) which is the "original" group until Dave Guard quit (in 1961). These guys sold millions of albums for Capitol Records and paved the way for Peter Paul & Mary + The Limeliters + The Chad Mitchell Trio + The Brothers Four, etc....then John Stewart (the new guy) replaced Dave Guard and they became "the second" KINGSTON TRIO.
