"Calikusu is a much-loved novel by Resat Nuri Guntekin. As someone who has read the novel, I truly enjoyed the mini-series adaptation. There have been different TV versions of the novel, but the 1986 production stands out from the others in terms of casting, faithfulness to the original story, and its cinematic quality. While watching the series, I strongly felt the novel's atmosphere - sometimes melancholic, yet mostly filled with hope. The political, cultural, and social climate of the period is portrayed successfully. The lead actors, Aydan Sener and Kenan Kalav, make a very strong duo..."
