"This is the only Welk special which was made specifically to bring in pledges for PBS. It's the same old on air we are selling a DVD, please buy it to keep Welk on TV, which characterizes all the post-series programs. And we know there will never be new ones; too many of the cast have died, including those appearing here. While the snippets of shows are great, and the info supplied by former members very interesting, there are no full songs or dances. The show itself runs about 100 minutes, close to 40 of those minutes are pledge breaks...."
