"If this game wasn't called "Bloodlines" then it would've been received much, much better. For people saying, "well then they shouldn't have named it after a beloved game from two decades ago!" that's fine, but then it wouldn't have been made at all otherwise. If you enjoy it for what it is, it's really fun and engaging with it's story and characters. The gameplay is really fun too though not as varied as you'd want plus the detective segments are really tough to replay. Biggest complaints: No manual saving in 2025 is a sin and the UE5..."

Weeks before the game's reveal, a dating app called Tender was discovered. The video advertising the soulmate algorithm had a bloody nature and took a literal approach to the thirst for interaction by asking members their blood type to match with other sick people. The fake app was run by Alice & Smith media agency on behalf of publisher Paradox Interactive who used this ARG (alternate reality game) as a way to tease the game's announcement.
