"This documentary tells the story of Henrys most engaging and important moments within his life. Although I enjoyed the dramatics of the show and the engaging tone, it lacks perspective. For example it's view on the dissolution of the monasteries lacks depth, it portrays many of the main characters as 2D leaving out information which might oppose the main theme of Henry being a 'monster'...."

💡 Did You Know?

This series includes some discussion on potential that may have been due to Henry sustaining a TBI at the age of 44, following his life threatening injury during a jousting match early in 1536. Historians posit that Henry was more civil and much less paranoid and vicious before this injury than this series represents. Letters to the Spanish Court support witnessing a remarkable turn in his behavior after the jousting injury.
