"I watched Somehow and it hit me like a sleepless night you can't shake off. It's a road movie, but not the "freedom on the highway" kind. More like driving so you don't have to stop and feel. Alex seems trapped in his own momentum, and when the girl shows up it doesn't turn into a cute romance or a rescue story; she feels like a catalyst. Sometimes they're tender, sometimes it turns ugly, and the film doesn't soften any of it.
