"This is a very creepy episode, mainly because I've watched these once and know who the new apprentice is. It shows a flash of him at the end. I actually paused it to see, and...well, let's just say that it does look a lot like him. But there is absolutely no hint that it is him... And Booth's shooting at the end. I think he's pretty much mad at everyone - including Brennan - so I'm not sure who he was thinking about when he was target practicing. We also see Brennan kiss Booth - on the cheek. Booth is obviously affected by this as he tries to quickly recover from it...."
