"In Schmigadoon! A couple trying to recapture the spark wanders into a living hodgepodge of Brigadoon, The Music Man, Carousel, and pretty much every other classic musical of the mid-century. The songs are lots of fun, the premise is well done, the acting and singing are first rate, and it's all very sweet. Schmigadoon is at its best when it is parodying its inspirations, but as the series progresses it gets more and more caught up in the idea of *being* a Broadway musical, with things like a classroom number that is tuneful and well done but more sincere than funny.
