This pilot episode went through six different versions and included a variety of characters that were eventually dropped, including a 'Resident Director' character who was the boss of all the RAs. The early versions of the script actually used the names of Derek Klein and Marc Morin as the names of the characters that were based on them. Christi Vanderbilt was not in the early drafts, but when she did first appear, she was a sorority girl and not a lesbian. She only became a lesbian in the final draft of the pilot.
