All Figaro All the Time

Have always adored Figaro the Cat. He still is one of my favourite characters from Disney&apos;s &apos;Pinocchio&apos;, not only one of my favourite Disney films and one of my favourite animated films but also one of my favourites overall. He is just so adorable and also very funny all without saying a word (much of it is facial expressions), bringing welcome comic relief to what can be a very dark film. He did a number of cartoons partnered with the likes of Cleo, Pluto and Minnie and proved that he was as good a lead as he was scene stealing support.

&quot;All Figaro All the Time&quot; is a real treat for anybody who is a fan of the character. It is made up of six cartoons (&apos;Figaro and Cleo&apos;, &apos;First Aiders&apos;, &apos;Bath Day&apos;, &apos;Figaro and Frankie&apos;, &apos;Cat Nap Pluto&apos; and &apos;Pluto&apos;s Sweater&apos;) and also part of the climax with Monstro from the film. &quot;All Figaro All the Time&quot; is not one of the best episodes of the fascinating series &apos;The Ink and Paint Club&apos; and some cartoons are better than others (true of most episodes of the series though), but it is still very good.

Faring weakest is &apos;Figaro and Frankie&apos;. It is elevated by great animation and music, a strong second half that is funnier and more suspenseful and the ever delightful Figaro. But also let down by a very thin and less than memorable plot that ends too patly, an underused Minnie and Frankie being very bratty to begin with.

Did also find &apos;Cat Nap Pluto&apos; pretty unexceptional, but it is still worth seeing for the character of the Sandman in particular.

The rest however are very good and more. The Monstro sequence, one of Disney&apos;s best and most tension filled climaxes, is the highlight, but of the cartoons the best are &apos;Figaro and Cleo&apos; and &apos;Pluto&apos;s Sweater&apos;. Very well animated and scored (the title song in the former is very catchy) and Figaro shines in both of them (bringing everything that made him such a great character in &apos;Pinocchio&apos;). Between Cleo and Pluto he works a little better with very playful and amusing Pluto, but both chemistries make sense, are funny and cute and Cleo should have been in more cartoons.

&apos;Bath Day&apos; and &apos;First Aiders&apos; are still great, though both are a little routine to begin with. The alley cat in &apos;Bath Day&apos; is a very menacing and hard to forget adversary. Again the animation and music are excellent and Pluto (who shines best in &apos;Pluto&apos;s Sweater&apos; where he actually steals the show from under Figaro) and Figaro are a great team.

Overall, well worth watching and a delight for fellow Figaro fans. 8/10.
