"A story worth telling, a woman worth remembering, a picturesque landscape, but a movie marred by amateurish dialogue, endlessly expository lines as if taken straight out of an online encyclopedia and, up to the halfway mark, scenes devoid of conflict, flatter than the Peruvian desert. It gets more involving later, but has globally more the feel of a clumsy docudrama with an appealing lead actress desperately struggling with her French and a Guillaume Gallienne playing an archeologist who doesn't seem to have digged much into his character...."
