"Hoop Dreams" for baseball
"I loved Hoop Dreams (Academy Award nominee and winner of several "Best Documentary" awards) and loved this movie in much the same way. A seemingly quixotic endeavor - creating a baseball league in Israel - is documented showing the dimples and some warts of its many heroes. So well done, I was fairly riveted throughout. Many heroes; a whole lotta love. I love baseball and also happen to be Jewish, but I think neither of those traits would be necessary to enjoy this unmistakable labor of love...."
