"Was "Cohen Black," an amnesiac who's emerged from a five month coma, actually a serial killer? "Chapel" attempts very belatedly to answer that intriguing question, but not before straying into lengthy and largely extraneous if not pointless explorations of his relationships with the other characters in the story. Those interactions rarely advance the story line, supply little psychological insight and appear to have been constructed with no particular cinematic motivation in mind.
