"In this second offering, we see the petulant Ernest wanting to be adored. The problem is his lack of adoring himself. There is no doubt what an amazing literary talent he was, but he had some real demons working on him. Wives two and three were passionate about him but in the third one, he found he had married a stick of dynamite. A superb talent as a journalist was her metier but that meant she couldn't stay behind, licking his boots. He had great success with "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and with books like "Death in the Afternoon." He wrote marvelous short stories like..."
