"The first season is quite short with only 12 episodes. The story so far serves mainly as an introduction to the the main cast, and the bigger plot only reveals itself at the season finale. Needless to say, I'm beyond looking forward to the next installments. The main characters are mostly children, so I was misled into thinking Kemono Jihen is mostly an enjoyable action anime. It is indeed enjoyable, but the anime is dubiously suitable for children. While the show does not state directly, but mature audience watching will instantly understand the darker, adult elements between the lines...."
