In 1968, the premiere of the movie Black Gold, Golden Microphone, which tells the story of TPAO Batman Orchestra, which passed the Thieves, Mongols and Erkin Koray in the Golden Microphone competition, was held at the Pera Museum. The documentary, which was produced and directed by Metin Avdaç, was completed in one year. During filming, the shooting team met and interviewed people and orchestra musicians who lived in that period in Ankara, Batman, Izmir, Mersin, Istanbul and Lüleburgaz. At the gala, Necati Zincirkiran, the editor-in-chief of the Hürriyet newspaper that organized the Golden Microphone contest, and the father of the contest, made a long speech. Stating that the Golden Microphone contest has played a very important role in the establishment of Western music in our country, Zincirkiran conveyed anecdotes from the period.
