"There isn't any story or characters here, just a brief (Less than one minute) footage of grass being blown by the wind. Considering this was made in 1985 (Not in 2001, as IMDb wrongly states) is rather impressive how nearly photorealistic the grass looks here, being miles ahead from other CGI animations produced around the same time, and in the following decade. Besides this and "Flags and Waves" (another animation test from the 80s, even shorter than this one) William Reeves never directed anything else, but continued working in other Pixar films to this very day...."
💡 Did You Know?
This short film was made as an animation test at Lucasfilm in 1985, and later released on DVD exclusively to Pixar employees in 2001. Due to using a copyrighted song as its soundtrack, it was not included in the hidden extras of the Pixar Short Films Volume 1 DVD/Blu-ray.
