""Freedom on My Mind" is a documentary about the efforts in the early to mid-1960s to register black voters in Mississippi...a state which had systematically and illegally denied black suffrage. In addition to grassroots local efforts to gain true voting rights, the film discusses the importance of white college students' efforts as well as the organization sending its own set of delegates to the DNC convention in 1964. This film was shown as part of the "American Experience" progam....one of the best PBS shows and one with a terrific track record. And, like most other..."
