"This show is thought provoking, not just in that we have a female captain, but that gender norms are turned upside down across the board. So not only does an all female team go on a mission to track down a highly dangerous killer, but who is left "back home" overwhelmed by emotional issues? The cis gendered male! And the "men of science" searching for a break through are probably not the traditional male role models. So perhaps it's easy to see why some find this serious disturbing or disappointing...."
