Based on an adventure isekai fantasy light novel series written by Kurokata and illustrated by KeG. Kurokata began penning the action fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in March 2014. Kadokawa began publishing the title under its MF Books imprint featuring illustrations by KeG in March 2016 and released the 12th and final volume in March 2020. Kurokata launched the Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata Returns (The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic Returns) sequel light novel in December 2023. The second volume went on sale on March 24, 2024. The light novel has a cumulative 3.25 million copies in circulation.
