Ridge encourages Thorne to break away from Macy, hoping that reverse psychology will make his brother return to her. Karen congratulates Macy on coming back to work and attending her first AA meeting. Macy confides in Karen that she still feels weak and watched by everyone. Karen can relate to Macy's feelings of being insecure about the man that she loves, but she has taken a different approach: she sees nothing more than a friend in Connor anymore. Meanwhile, Brooke tries to convince Connor to cancel his other plans, but he refuses out of respect for Karen. Assuming that her lover merely wants to teach her a lesson, Brooke then asks Karen and later Ridge out to dinner but they both turn her down as well. Thorne informs Macy that she means too much to him to turn his back on her. He then invites her to move back in with him. Macy is overjoyed - and so is Thorne. While Karen arrives at Connor's place to have a BBQ, Sheila prepares to open Brooke's eyes about her philandering boyfriend.
