The Bengal Files was the first film of Namashi Chakraborthy to release theatrically in Canada. Prior to this, none of Mithun's son Mahaakshay Mimoh Chakraborthy's films ever released in Canadian theatre's either. Even Namashi's film Bad Boy did not see a theatrical release in Canada.
