In her column for the Daily Mirror (22nd November 1989) Anne Robinson commented on this episode:
"If Terry Wogan is found hung, drawn and quartered on Shepherd's Bush Green in the next week, look no further than the top of this page for who dunnit.
Tel might have thought it was obvious he was making a joke when he told seven million viewers that I was Tony Robinson's mother. But this is not the case. Hundreds have taken it as gospel.
I know because they have stopped me in the street in the last couple of weeks to share the joy of it all. Which, since there are only half a dozen years between me and Baldrick, isn't the least bit flattering."
Anne's calculation was actually incorrect, with the reality even less flattering - Tony Robinson was born less than two years after her, not six.
