Shrugging off small-town mores and conventions, a woman&apos;s escape from Kansas becomes a Yellow Brick Road exploration that takes her out in to the world and finally home again in THE OTHER SIDE OF MY RAINBOW. Her perspective broadens as she searches for links between past and future, often through fellow world travelers. When tragedy brings her back to the family farm, she finds her experiences have helped her understand the small town and the family she thought she&apos;d left behind.

A personal documentary that crisscrosses continents, the filmmakerÂ’s odyssey of self-discovery includes cultural, political, and familial awakenings. She talks candidly about her 13-year struggle in Germany and how she tried to assimilate, while at the same time she was sifting through her innermost thoughts and feelings. What she learns is interwoven with the moving stories from a group of individuals living both in Germany and the USA. Their stories are uncannily similar  and weave a broader picture that is not only emotionally more engrossing, but insightful.

When she returns to the USA, to San Francisco she was walloped by reverse culture shock as well as tragedy when confronted with her parentsÂ’ deaths.
