💡 Did You Know?
It is ironic that MGM decided to show clips from these two films. Captains Courageous (1937) made Spencer Tracy a huge star and won him his first of two consecutive Oscars. However, two decades later the actor's constant complaining and recalcitrance regarding his role in Tribute to a Bad Man (1956) caused MGM to fire him (James Cagney replaced him in the film.), ending his twenty plus year association with the studio.
