It says a lot about the way Robertson&apos;s return has been handled that last time his half-hearted romance with Leah was the least interesting thing about him, this time it&apos;s a relief to see him take time out from making snide remarks to actually act like a human being for a bit.His sudden interest in Martha and Hugo&apos;s case and subsequent interview with Roo gives Alf another chance to act like an overprotective bore when the situation doesn&apos;t really call for it.

The Gina/John/Xavier situation is mildly amusing.Now that the viewer&apos;s in the know, there&apos;s fun to be had in watching Xavier tie himself in knots, make leaps of logic and get it completely wrong, while the pair desperately attempt to cover.

After a year of her in a near permanent strop, it&apos;s nice to see Ruby get a fun storyline for a change, especially the scene where she tries to play it cool with Alex and trips over her school bag.But the last few scenes seem to put paid to that, as it turns into another poorly plotted storyline.Either it should have stayed as Ruby pursuing Alex without knowing he had a girlfriend or they should have been in a full relationship before she learned he was two-timing her.Instead, they kiss a couple of times then Nicole sees him with someone else and tells her.
