"There is a lot of fun here to be had with young adult and cult movie references. There is one to YA author Patrick Ness. Two of the main characters are called Landis and Dante after the movie directors. The teacher at school is called Ms Wiest, presumably after Dianne Wiest who appeared in The Lost Boys. The cult teen vampire movie from the 1980s which was also a reference to Peter Pan. Set in a small Australian town that has an old abandoned amusement park. Where something spooky is going on. Curious kids have gone in late at night and came a cropper. Chester Dante and Mapplethorpe Landis ..."
