"this is a terrific little film. A bit like a small forward, industrious, always lurking around the packs, then bobbing up just when you want them to kick a goal, with or against the run of the play. It is very tight, the focus is on the characters, and the direction builds and holds the tension. It is a comedy drama, but with heart and feeling. each of the actors gives their utmost, and builds really complex picture. All are both sympathetic and unsympathetic in parts, creating a nice tension The script cracks along, and none of the actors are left with dud lines, apart from Molly perhaps!..."
