"Arm bells start ringing when an incident occurs at the nuclear plant at Three Mile Island. The usual high standard of documentary you'd expect from Netflix. If I'm honest I was unaware of this event, but I watched with interest, and a sense of unease. Nuclear still fills me with a bit of fear, and watching this, it's no wonder. It feels similar to the events that took place at Chernobyl, with an equally wonderful cover up by the authorities. Some nice bits of film used, and some interesting clips from a very fitting film also. Chilling, informative 8/10...."
💡 Did You Know?
This documentary contains several staged recreations of conditions inside of the nuclear core. While dressed in protective suits, power plant employees are shown taking radiation measurements with Geiger counters emblazoned with the Civil Defense logo. These counters were issues to the general public during the Cold War and would not be used to take measurements inside of the plant. These counters would be used common citizens, and indeed in actual archival footage shown later, only residents use these devices.
