"The final episode of Season 3 had already revealed that the main story had gone bankrupt. Now that the characters and the spirit of the show has grown on us, we are expected to buy whatever nonsensical, even contradicting things they throw our way for the sake of keeping that "who killed my mother?" thing alive. I don't get it. Why did not simply provide a reasonable conclusion to that and inseminated anoter, fresh story arc? It's really painful to witness a talented writer suffer trying to match this and that, bend reason and logic relentlessly, just to keep alive a plot..."
