"The ugliest movie i've ever seen. All the more ugly as it starts from "high" intentions. The director would like to make an anti-racist speech, instead he ends up doing pure racism. the Venetians are presented as thieves, swindlers, racists, drunkards and whoever has more. Abatantuono at its worst, try throughout the film to speak Venetian without succeeding. Lodovini only knows how to show off her smile. Mastandrea is embarrassing in the role of a Roman commissioner, salvific among the bad Venetians. There is also room for a colored prostitute who, obviously in perfect Italian,..."
