""No Place Like Rome" reminds me very much of the Eddie Cantor film "Roman Scandals", which came out three years earlier. Both feature an incredibly anachronistic and funny version of ancient Rome. When the story begins, the President of Rome (president???) announces that in two months, every man older than 20 must be married...of they'll be thrown to the lions.
